First of the season lettuces
I had the Lyons's over for dinner a few days ago.
There are some exciting things coming this summer from the new New-Jersey farm.
Here are the first of the season's lettuces.
Delicious, tender and for a basis for what a salad was.
Salads are an endangered specie, virtually everywhere you go the actual greens are no longer the focus, it's about excess proteins, nuts, apples, copious additions of cheeses, weighty dresssings or all of the above. The forest indeed gets lost in the trees.
By the way is the plural of lettuce........."lettuces" or "Lett-i" pronounced "let-Eye"
Anybody know....?
